"Winter Patrol" by Nicolas Trudgian this is a limited edition aviation art print signed in pencil by General GUNTHER RALL , General DIETER HRABAK and Oberleutnant WALTER WOLFRUM... This print depicts Messerschmitt Me109 fighters from JG 52 as they return to base at low altitude through a spectacular valley... General Dieter Hrabak (125 victories) was one of the Luftwaffe’s most respected and popular leaders. He scored his first victory in the Battle of France and achieved 15 more during the Battle of Britain. On Eagle Day he was commander of II./JG 54 which he led until taking command of JG 52 in 1942. He was the first JG 54 pilot to be awarded the Knight’s Cross. Generalleutnant Gunther Rall (275 victories) scored his first victory during the Battle of Britain and was leading 8./JG 52 by July 1940. After transfer to the Eastern Front he accumulated victories at an astonishing rate. After recovering from a crash he assumed command of III./JG 52 and fought to become the world’s third highest scoring ace behind only Hartmann and Barkhorn. He earned the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords and is now the highest scoring living ace. Oberleutnant Walter Wolfrum (137 victories) first saw combat in the Crimea with 5./JG 52. Wounded many times, he took command of 1./JG 52 in May 1944 and fought in the defense of the Ploesti oilfields. He commanded 1./JG 52 until the war’s end, having flown 423 missions and earned the Knight’s Cross...
