This is a rare Forces Air Letter by Air Mail commemorating the formation of 617 Squadron Royal Air Force 3 Dec 1970 : British Forces 1138 Postal Service...A special Flight was flown in connection with the signing of this cover and was Flown from RAF Scampton to Goose Bay , Labrador in Avro Vulcan B MK 2 XM 595 by Captain : WG CDR C.A.Vasey RAF CO 617 SQN : FLT TIME 4 HRS 55 MINS...The rear of the letter is stamped Goose Airport 3 XII 1970 Newfoundland... This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it is not numbered and was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...The front of the letter has been signed by by WG CDR C.A.
