Rare 1st Day cover Commemorating the Royal Silver Wedding 20th November 1972 and of the ' 25th Anniversary of the Formation of the RAF Marine Branch ' Royal Air Force Mount Batten...It pictures the Supermarine Sea Otter and HMAFV Sea Otter...The rear of the cover has three different dated stamps , the 1st being ' Received Abroad HMAFV Sea Otter 20 Nov 1972 ' , the 2nd ' No 1102 Marine Craft Unit Royal Air Force Falmouth 22 Nov 1972 and the 3rd being RAF Post Room Mountbatten Plymouth 11 Dec...Comes complete with the information slip inside...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it is not numbered and was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...It is signed on the front by Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland , Grand Admiral Karl Donitz and Georg-Wilhelm Schulz, Knight's Cross Winner, 19 ships sank, U-10, U-64, U-124 plus RAF Captain D.J. Bullock....It represents a British Forces letter being posted on board HMAFV Sea Otter , then conveyed to No 1102 Falmouth and then flown in a Wessex Helicopter from Falmouth to RAF Mount Batten...priced @ £295.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
