First Day of Issue / 1st Day Cover commemorating the life of Lieutenant-General Aviateur Baron Michel Donnet CVO , DFC , FRAeS...The cover commemorates two flights of the Belgium Airforce , one by Jacques Verhaeren Commandant No 350 Escadrille Beauvechain in a Lockheed F 104G Starfighter FX 10 and another by a Belgium crew in a Lockheed C.130(H) Hercules CH 06...It comes with its information slip and a photo of Michel Donnet in a RAF training Aircraft...It has a 6 Franc stamp which has been franked...The front has been signed by Michel Donnet , Adolf Galland and acques Verhaeren Commandant No 350 Escadrille Beauvechain...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it is numbered 1022 of 1970 and is stamped on the rear ROYAL AIRFORCE NORTHHOLT 1 MAR 79...IT was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...priced @ £125.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
