Official First day of issue / 1st day cover commemorating the opening of the SIR DERMOT BOYLE WING RAF Museum Hendon 2nd Dec 1975 and a flight in Honor from Soesterberg Germany and Wittmund Germany to RAF Brize Norton in a Phantom of Jagdggeschwader 71 Richthofen...Inside there is an information card about The Royal Air Force Museum and the Sir Dermot Boyle Wing...The front has a 50 pfenick stamp an dis franked Wittmund 2944, 17.12.75-12...The rear is stamped Deutsch Luftwaffe and Royal Air Force Museum 28-12 75 Hendon plus a stamp Received 18-12-75 RAF Brize Norton...The front has been signed by World War Two Fighter Aces Johnnie Johnson and Adolf Galland plus the Kommandant of Jagdgeschwader 71 Richthofen Hauptmann D.P. Merklinghaus , 2944 Wittmund I...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...priced @ £125.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
