Rare 1st day cover commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the first Aeroplane Flight across the channel 27 July 1909 by Louis Bleriot and its celebration flight in the Stella Artois Air Race 25th July 1979...It has a 6p Jersey postage stamp and is franked with the official 70th Anniversary Bleriot Stella Artois Air Race stamp...Comes complete with it's information card on Louis Bleriot inside...The front of the cover has been stamped with a Max Immelmann Pour Le merite stamp...It has also been signed by Luftwaffe Legend General Adolf Galland , Knights Cross Oakleaves Swords and Diamonds and pilot of the celebration flight Miss Susan Saggers...The rear of the cover has been stamped OMNI-FLIGHT Airport -Gent 9820 Sint Denus Westem 25.7.79...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it is not numbered and was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...priced @ £95.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
