Rare 1st day cover of the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire over the Isle of Wight 5th March 1936 and the commemorative flight flown to celebrate the anniversary on the 5th March 1986 in Spitfire Mk 19 PM631 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight...It has a 22p postage stamp and is franked British Forces 2110 Postal Services 50th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire...Inside it comes with an information card on the career of Jeffrey Quill and a photo of the man himself...The rear is stamped Royal Air Force Coningsby 5 Mar 86...It is a certified copy bearing the No 1898 of 2010...The front has been signed by Luftwaffe Legend General Adolf Galland , Knights Cross Oakleaves Swords and Diamonds and Royal Air Force Legend and Cheif Sppitfire test pilot Jeffrey Quill OBE. AFC...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...priced @ £195.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
