Rare 1st day cover commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the start of the DESIGN of the BOEING B 17 FORTRESS and the flight flown in its honor...It has a 20 cent American postage stamp and is franked Washington D.C 20066 Oct 4 1983...Inside it has a information card on Curtis LeMay and a photo of the man himself...It is a certified copy bearing the No 0195 of 1396...The front is signed by Luftwaffe Legend General Adolf Galland , Knights Cross Oakleaves Swords and Diamonds and American Legend General Curtis LeMay USAF...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...priced @ £125.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
