Description

This is a rare secondary market print Struggle for Supremacy...This is a rare print sold out many years ago and is well sought after on the secondary market...This particular print has been adorned with a huge double remarque by Robert Taylor and is highly sought after. One of Robert's most sought-after releases 'Struggle For Supremacy' has been a firm favourite since it's release back in 2001. It is January 1945 and the war has now swung irrevocably in the favour of the Allies. The Armies are now converging on Germany from all sides and the Allied Air Forces are pounding German Industry - and Cities - incessantly from the air. The Allies heavily outnumbered the Luftwaffe in the air and had qualitative superiority also. To escort the US heavy Bombers in daylight the Americans had the superb North American P-51D Mustang, which had the performance - and range - to escort the 'heavies' all the way to their targets in Germany and all the way home to their airfields in England. The Luftwaffe, outnumbered, with a shortage of pilots and aviation fuel, did not give up. Despite the odds, the German pilots continued to contest the skies over their homeland as best they could. Some of the Luftwaffe veterans had been flying - and fighting - since WW2 began six long years before. They were still willing and able to inflict losses on the Allies. Robert has depicted the P-51D Mustangs of the famed 357th Fighter Group, who have encountered the Me109G's of the Luftwaffe, intent on attacking any US heavies they can find. To assist the Mustang pilots, P-47 Thunderbolts of the famous 56th Fighter Group 'Zemkes Wolfpack' climb through a magnificent cloudscape in an effort to deflect the Luftwaffe attack. The Prints are Signed by Artist Robert Taylor and SEVEN veterans - all 'Aces' - from the US Fighter Groups and Luftwaffe:- Colonel Clarence 'Bud' ANDERSON - 357th FG - 16 Victories , Lt.
