Here we have a complete one off , the First Proof off the printing press which has been adorned with a Huge Triple Remarque. On the bottom left in the tint border Robert has written First Proof May - 98 , below this in the white border it has been signed and dedicated by Legendary Dambuster George 'Jonny' Johnson D.F.M and reads Bomb Aimer AJT Sorpe Dam , 16/17 May '43. In the centre white border at the bottom Robert Taylor has written : 'Operation Chastise' The night they Breached the Dams. We needed just one proofing of this image , they got it right first time. The whole of this edition went incredible well selling out to the trade in a matter of days. ! A massive plume of water erupts as the bouncing bomb from Sqn Ldr 'Dinghy Young' Lancaster scores a direct hit on the Mohne Dam, at 00.40 hours on the night of 16/17 May, 1943. Having already made their attacks, Flt Lt Micky Martin and W/Cdr Guy Gibson bravely circle the flak positions with navigation lights on, drawing enemy fire. By destroying the Mohne and Eder Dams, and damaging the Sorpe Dam, the Lancasters of 617 Squadron recorded one of the most remarkable night air operations of World War Two...priced @ £2495.00 for this one off huge remarque.
