The 7 x 9-1/2 inch, 186-pages hardcover books were published by order of the Ober-kommando des Heeres ( High Command of the Infantry ) by Verlag Breitkopf and Haertel in Leipzig. The yearbook series was started 1936, each book is full of very interesting information pertaining the German Heer , new equipment , vehicles , strategies , war photographs (in the 1939 and onward editions ) and much more ! The Foreword was written by the Oberbefehlshaber des Heeres Generaloberst Freiherr von Fritsch in the 1936 edition ).
