Description

This is a very rare print sold out many years ago and is well sought after on the secondary market...This particular print has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it is not numbered and was a gift from Robert Taylor to the late General for signing the edition of this print , It is part of a batch of prints that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...A magnificent rendition of the notorious Me109's of JG-26 - Adolf Galland's Jagdgeschwader (fighter wing) - climbing out of Abbeville on a bright morning in 1941. Leading the flight, is Galland himself - the greatest Fighter Leader of the Luftwaffe. Adolf Galland commanded the respect of both his compatriots and those of the Allied Air Forces who knew of his reputation - in particular his old adversary, Douglas Bader. There were few sights more likely to set flowing the adrenalin of the fighter pilots of the Allied Air Forces in 1941 than the appearance of Adolf Galland's Me109's. Robert Taylor has captured on canvas that very moment when the Messerschmitts emerge from cloud cover into the magnificent coloured morning sky climbing to their battle height of 20,000ft. The pilots anticipate another engagement that will test to the limit the nerve and endurance of the brave young men of both sides. Always an incisive strategist and popular leader, Adolf Galland rapidly rose through the ranks of the Luftwaffe to become the youngest General in all the German forces at the age of only 29 years. Robert Taylor's painting does full justice to the menacing, yet beautiful appearance of this remarkable man's fighter wing...Our expert team have framed this print to full conservation standards and it is priced @ £995.00...This is a personal copy owned by Adolf Galland and comes with full Authenticity...To complement the purchase of your fine art print, we are now able to offer a professional Picture Framing service.
