Very Rare secondary market print RETURN FROM SCHWEINFURT...This is a very rare print sold out many years ago and is well sought after on the secondary market...This particular print has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland , it is not numbered and was a gift from Robert Taylor to the late General for signing the edition of this print , It is part of a batch of prints that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland... 17 August 1943 , the day the B-17's of the ‘Mighty Eighth’ attacked Regensburg and Schweinfurt , one of the most dangerous raids of WWII. Here we see B-17 Fortresses of the American 8th Air Forces 1st Wing , fighting their way back from Schweinfurt on that fateful day... The title alone sums up the legendary status surrounding this outstanding image which depicts one of the most dangerous, and arduous, bombing missions in the history of air combat...
