First Day of Issue / 1st Day Cover commemorating the American Revolution Bicentennial Air Display at RAF Mildenhall 4 July 1976 by the Eagles Phantoms...It has an 11p commemorative stamp and is franked RAF Mildenhall...The front is signed by the 4 members of the American Eagles Formation aerobatic team based at RAF Lakenheath...This team , the only one in Britain at the time to fly Phantoms , gave their first display at RAF Mildenhall on 4th July 1976...it is numbered 527 of 996 and certified by W.S.O. Randel of the Royal Air Force Museum...The signatures are Capt Casmier Jaszczak USAF Leader , Capt Steven Plummer USAF No 1 , Capt Harry Calvino USAF No 2 and Capt Kintner Alverson USAF No 3...It is also signed by Luftwaffe Legend General Adolf Galland...It comes with it's information slip inside...This particular cover has just been purchased recently by ourselves from the Great Luftwaffe General Adolf Galland's widow Heidi Galland...IT was a gift to the late General for signing the edition of this cover at the time , It is part of a large batch of covers that we have just purchased from the late Generals widow Heidi Galland...priced @ £195.00 for this one off cover that once belonged to the Great General Adolf Galland.
